As the first LGBTQIA+ religion dedicated to affirming and protecting the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals, the Djedi Order is intensifying its efforts to eradicate the discriminatory practice known as the LGBTQIA+ panic defense.

In our unwavering commitment to equality and justice, we stand against the continued admission of the LGBTQIA+ panic defense in the courts of 39 American states. This legal strategy allows defendants to exploit fear or provocation related to the victim's sexual orientation or gender identity, potentially resulting in reduced charges or lighter sentences.

In an article published by The Daily Beast, it is highlighted that the persistence of the LGBTQIA+ panic defense contributes to a climate of transphobia and homophobia, enabling murderers to escape appropriate consequences for their actions. This defense perpetuates a legal genocide of LGBTQIA+ members, as it undermines their rights, safety, and dignity.
